To get a barcode, you will need a GS1 Company Prefix. A GS1 Company Prefix is a 6-10 unique identification number assigned to your company by GS1 US. It is a set of unique numbers that identifies your company in a GTIN. It is the foundation in GS1 Standards and is needed to create your UPC. Don’t have a GS1 Company Prefix?
Once you’ve received your GS1 Company Prefix, you can begin creating GTINs (Global Trade Item Numbers) that are unique numbers assigned to your products. To create your GTINs, you will need to register your product information into the GS1 Data Hub.
If you’re not sure how to register your product information or want to ensure accurate product data, we offer this option in our barcode service! Get Barcodes Now
Once you have registered your product information into the GS1 Data Hub, you will need the .eps format of your barcode for your product’s packaging or to print labels. GS1 provides a .png format of your barcode for view only.
Printing in .png will cause your barcode to be pixelated resulting a faliture to scan. We also provide resizing services for companies who wish to obtain a smaller barcode to accommodate smaller product packaging.
